Airoh great protagonist of the Six Days Enduro Competition in Viña del Mar, Chile
great results at the 93rd edition of the most famous off-road race in the world
AIROH, the official FIM partner of Six Days Enduro Competition, was the great protagonist of the 93rdedition of the most famous off-road race in the world, disputed this year from 12th to 17th of November, in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Six Days is the most ancient, fascinating and famous enduro race in the world and this year deployed on the starting grid 445 riders representing 17 nations from 5 continents.
The first edition of the “International Six Days Trial” was organised by some fans from London who wanted to give birth to a race lasting some days, on off-road ways, where to test the technical skills and resistance of the bikes, a distinct race from the Tourist Trophy that has been disputed since 1907 on the road track on the Isle of Man. At the end of the summer in 1913, in Carlisle, in Northern England, the first Six Days Race got underway, that became afterwards ISDE: International Six Days Enduro, where the World Championship for National Teams is assigned.
This year, the Six Days is run on a total track which is 1,400 km long, with six special races on Monday and Tuesday, five test races on Wednesday and Thursday and again six test races on Friday, while the final cross race is run on the Pacific Ocean shore, on a dirt track that riders have to repeat for 7 times.
Since the Australian team has won the World Trophy, the National Italian Team got on the highest place of the podium of Junior Trophy and Cub classification.
AIROH HELMETS won the Women World Trophy with the Australian rider Jessica GARDINER and got on the third place of podium with the French Livia LANCELOT, who’s been twice the World Champion.
National podium for Italy too, third place in World Trophy thanks to Davide GUARNERI, second in E1 class and Thomas OLDRATI, third in E2 class, both with Honda-RedMoto. The newcomer Enrico ZILLI (Honda-RedMoto) was called by FMI to replace Emanuele FACCHETTI, injured, and ended his first Six Days race on second place in C1 class.
Good result for the national French team too, fourth in World Trophy with Christophe CHARLIER (Beta) sixth in E2 class and Christophe NAMBOTIN (Gas Gas) sixth in E3 class.
Third place for France in Junior Trophy with our young rider “Under 23” Theo ESPINASSE (Sherco)
